Living in Missouri this year has been an adventure dodging rain and thunderstorms. So this beautiful Saturday morning, I'm gonna head out and put some miles on the scooter. Tomorrow, our HOG chapter is having a Poker Run. That should get me another 300 miles or so. Monday is Million Mile Monday for HOG. HOG members are asked to ride to work or whatever and log their mile on , with the goal of logging a million miles total. So if youre a HOG member, do your part. I personally plan to go about 100 miles north to Canton, MO, where some in-laws live and also the home of one of the few levees still intact along the Missouri side of the Mississippi. By the way, during the 500 year flood of 1993 it was the only levee to survive and may well be again. Anyway I'm gonna ride up, maybe sandbag for a while, have lunch with in-laws and ride home out thru the countryside should get 250 or 300 that way, plus get tho see a lot of floodwaters on the way up. I'd get to see more, but most of the scenic river road (79) is closed due to high water. Everone have a safe weekend. And I hope your weather affords good riding too. less...

Sunsoul, If I could, I certainly would. And there's a lot of people around here would help me. Hell, they even closed one interstate the other day for about 24 hours. Water wasn't across the round, but there were so many deer displaced by the water, they were all over the highway.

Once again, the freakin weatherman lied. I got out for a while, rode over to see the damage at Winfield. Man that's a lot of water, considering the 2 miles to the river. Anything east of Hwy 79 is underwater. And they have 79, a beautiful rode to ride, closed both north and south of town. If ya live along the Mississippi, near the flood plain and ya read this, my heart goes out to you. They're too little to stay out in weather. less...
